Hello, we are Ray and Dori and we are happy that you swing by our little page.

We want to tell you a little bit about us.

 

Ray is a Floridian guy, over 30 years old, and loves watches and airplanes (I know, random fact, right?). He was 19 years young when he decided to go to Youth With A Mission, (YWAM) for one year. That one year turned into 16 years. He began as a student, went on several mission trips, taught the Bible, and helped the community.

I, Dori was born and raised in a little city in East Germany, I am just a little over 30 years old and love drawing and everything that is silly. After school, I became a professional beautician, hated it, and eventually tripped into social work. I started with an internship in a youth club in a rougher area in Berlin, Germany. Then I was leading a youth group in a church for a few years. After that, I went to school for three years to become a professional educator/kindergarten teacher/youth worker/ babysitter/etc (Trying to explain a school degree that doesn't exist in the States...). The last social work I did, was being a House Mother in a housing program for pregnant women in need.

How we met

Ray went to the beautiful city of Dresden in Germany to help with the refuge work. At this time a lot of Arabic and Persian refuges were coming to Germany. I did my school in Dresden. And thank God, both of us went to the same church. Ray introduced himself 2 - 3 times to me and just a bit over a year later in 2019 the wedding bells were ringing in Florida. In July 2021 we welcomed our son Nolan and in November 2023 we welcomed our son Erik to the family.

Ministry

Ray is serving mainly in the area of Biblical Studies and Dori is a full-time Mom. We are currently in the process of moving back to Germany to join the YWAM Hurlach base in early March. Ray will be helping to restart the Biblical Studies Department. The base has a renewed focus on supporting ministries in Central Europe and the Balkans. We are excited to see how we can support the vision with Biblical Studies.
